How do you define a conversion?

The typical user takes 5 days to go from exploring to making a purchase. If they clicked on a DataCue recommendations and purchased within 5 days, we count that as a conversion.

You generally have two types of visitors to your store - a small percentage of them know exactly what they want, the majority are just exploring. We can't do much for the first. Our goal is to help the latter group find something relevant on your store. A user click is a good indicator of interest, the most interesting content we show them - the better the impact we have on your sales.

How do commissions work?

The pricing plans are designed so that we get paid based on results.

Every plan has a commission rate applied after we earn you a defined revenue value. For instance, the basic plan says 4% after $750 dollars earned from DataCue.
Lets say your store earned $10000 last month and $1250 came from DataCue.

Since we earned you more than $750, you would pay the fixed price of $29 + $20 in commissions. The commission in this case is 4% of the extra $500 we earned you ($1250-750).

Do I need to configure a lot of rules for this to work?

DataCue is designed specifically to avoid you having to maintain lots of complex rules. We create rules for you based on what your users are doing which is the best way to curate their experience.

Others may ask you to make rules like 'if someone clicks on jeans, show them a banner for jeans' - this gets cumbersome very quickly.

By analyzing what your users are doing, we're a lot more responsive. As winter approaches, people will see more winter themed stuff. If there's some new movie or event that unexpectedly created demand for a certain product - we'll catch that too.

How will you bill me?

For your security, we will never ask/store your credit card details with us. If you’re on Shopify, we use Shopify billing so the charges appear in one invoice. For all others, we use PayPal where you can either pay via your PayPal account balance or enter your credit card details directly on PayPal. Our billing cycle is monthly or annual, depending on the plan you select.
